This post shows the pictures of the house after hacking.
- Hacking usually takes 2 days in a apartment or HDB renovation.
- After hacking, all the debris will be removed by the workers.
- Sands, cement, protective papers (to lay over after flooring works, which will protect the tiles from damages), pipes (for toilets and kitchen use) and tiles will be delivered for the tiling works.
- The pictures above show that the floor is already in bare statue where the previous tiles were removed.
- 1st stage of the electrical work is completed. Old wires and lighting fixtures are removed and new wires are installed. Some simple lightings are installed for temporary use.
- The new false ceiling is also installed to cover up the electrical wirings. Lights will be installed in the later stage.
- The worker is mixing the cement and sand for laying in the kitchen floor.
- You can see that some pipes were installed in the toilet prior to applying the cement. All the pre-installed pipes will be hidden under the cement and tiles.
- Unfortunately, the big PVC sewage pipe cannot be hidden or conceal due to HDB renovation guidelines.
- This room is the princess room for the 6 years old daughter of the homeowner.
- The empty white sack bags are for collecting rubbish.
- Notice that the floor is not hack – Interior Designer Ben recommended that the hacking cost can be saved by laying vinyl tiles over the old tiles.
- The owner plan to use this room as the study room.
- The renovation works include flooring, painting and changing of door.
- Again, the floor will be overlay with vinyl tiles.
- The renovation works involved: overlay of vinyl tiles, wardrobe installation, painting and changing of door.
- The master toilet will be one of the highlight of the renovation.
- Notice some copper pipe is already installed and ready for cement and tiles to be overlaid.
- The sewage hole for toilet bowl is filled with papers to block any rubbish. This is to prevent the sewage from being choked during the renovation period.
Summary of renovation works at this stage
- Hacking and clearing of debris
- Delivery of cement, tiles, and other tiling materials
- Partial installation of copper pipes
- Partial electrical works (removal of old wiring and fixtures, installation of new wire)
- False ceiling installed
- Start of tiling works
